Well Being


All in all the definition of well-being is "the state of being comfortable, healthy, or happy." Your well-being is strongly linked to happiness and life satisfaction, it can also be described as how you feel about yourself and your life. You are the creator of your well-being and you are the one that must keep yourself at peace to maintain a healthy well-being.

Having good living conditions (housing, employment) are fundamental to your well-being. All the time I feel my house must be completely clean before I can even lay my head don at night, that includes not even having a dish in the sink or it'll be on my mind all night and may prevent me from going to sleep. Some may call it OCD, but I just know what I like and how I like my things in my home to give me a sense of a good quality of life or as they say well-being.

Well-being includes so many positive things including: feeling happy, socially connected, and purposeful. As f lately there has been a decline in increasing your well-being because most people don't notice their well-being is declining and also they might not have the capacity or knowledge on how to increase it.

In this article, I am going to list ways to improve your well-being so that you can live a positive and healthy life:

  1. Get proper sleep (at least 8 hours a day)
  2. Eat a balanced diet
  3. Expose your body to sunlight
  4. Exercise daily even if its for 30 minutes a day
  5. Stay away from smoking and alcohol
  6. Find and practice new hobbies
  7. Be social as much as you can
  8. Delay using your phone all the time
  9. Give yourself daily affirmations
  10. LIVE IN THE MOMENT!!!
    1. We tend to be stuck in the past and we negative self-talk and we ask ourselves why someone has done us a certain way and we blame ourselves and miss opportunities that the present moment tries to offer us.

Distraction and stress can harm our health and stress responses in the body is related to inflammation and aging. Meditation is something that I try to do everyday to relieve stress and it helps even if its for 30 minutes. There are many advantages of meditation which can be:

  • Gaining a new perspective in stressful situations
  • Reducing negative emotions
  • Focusing on the present moment
  • Increasing patience and tolerance
  • Improving sleep quality
  • Lowering resting blood pressure

Our well-being is the one factor in our life that we do have control over and if its not under control we don't have control over our lives and we should start by getting our well-being in order to align all our aspects in life that keep us healthy and positive.
